My Collection
This page is dedicated to my collection. Each item is cataloged here with info such as the company that made it, the year, and a short description of the item. The categories in order are plush, figures, miscellaneous, and Trading Cards. These items were obtained from many different countries and people by direct purchase and auctions. It has taken a lot of time and effort to grow my collection to this size. I hope you enjoy! A red star is next to items that are special in my collection for one reason or another. I have a lot of favorites! *Some photos can be enlarged by clicking on them. |
Plush
Recall Plush
By Tomy, 2004
This plush was released along with a few others (such as charizard and blastoise). It originally came with a little drawstring bag attached to the tag but mine does not have it.
These plushes were recalled for some having broken tips of sewing needles found in the stuffing. Yikes... Since they were recalled, so they can be very difficult to find nowadays. Who knows how many where actually found with the needles in them. I do not think mine has any. The plush is very derpy but I actually like it quite a bit. It's pretty unique and is super fuzzy!
"My Pokemon Collection" MPC Plush
Banpresto 2014
Another UFO plush, the "My Pokemon Collection" includes a ton of pokemon in this tiny form. Venusaur was released alongside charizard, blastoise, bulbasaur, squirtle, and charmander. I love the design of this plush, and it's size!
Pokemon Center Plush
Pokemon Center, 2015 This plush was released alongside Blastoise and Charizard. It seems that they took the pattern from the Mega Venusaur plush released a year earlier and slightly tweaked it to make this plush. Which is awesome, because I think the mega plush looks excellent! I had hoped they would make a regular Venusaur counterpart to it. The detail and accuracy on this plush is amazing. |
Figures
Tomy Figure
Tomy,1997-1999 Tomy figures are probably the most well known figures. All of the original 151 have tomy figures. I believe this figure is possibly first Venusaur figure to be released. It is the pencil topper version. This figure gives me nostalgia. Fun fact: This figure is from my childhood, and was given to me by my brother later on to start my venusaur collection. |
Newer Tomy Figure
Tomy, 2007
This is the same type of figure as the one above, only a newer version. The colors are a lot more accurate and it has more detail. it is interesting to compare the two and see how much they improved.

Tomy Hyper Size Figure
Tomy, 2013
A larger figure made by tomy right before X and Y was released. It's legs are posable. I like the style of this figure, it is more angular and has attitude.
Mega Venusaur Hyper Size Figure
Tomy, 2014
Mega Venusaur's first figure, this figure is similar to the regular Venusaur hyper size. It's legs are also movable. It's a really nice figure, and represents mega Venusaur well.
Buildable Figure
Banpresto ,1998
I am not really sure on the origins of this figure. It's pretty big and heavy, and it's vines can be removed (I think). I think it can be taken apart but I fear breaking it if I try.
It's a really neat figure though, very high quality for it's time, one of the only figures where he has his vines out. I like how each of the petals on his flower are in a different position. One of my favorites for sure.
D-Arts Figure Bandai, 2013 I LOVE this figure. It's the best venusaur figure out there. His legs, body, neck, leaves, the individual flower petals, and even his mouth can be posed. It also had vines that you can attach to his body, a nice feature. It's quite large too. I also like the design they gave him, it's a bit different than his official artwork, but I think it looks really nice and translates well into this figure. |
European Diorama Shooter Figure
Bandai, 2004(?)
This item was a European exclusive, therefore making it very difficult to hunt down. Venusaur is on a little platform that has wheels, and can be shot out of the base by pressing a button. The base is supposed to connect to other bases of different pokemon in this set. I love how colorful the base is, and shooting Venusaur is also fun.
Burger King Kid's Meal Toy
Burger King, 1999
This is from way back when when kid's meal toys were actually cool. It has wheels on the bottom and came with a thing to shoot it from. It was released around the "Pokemon Craze" of the '90s.
Build-able Wind Up Toy
Tomy, 1997
This figure came as a kit in a box. It had to be built, like a plamo figure somewhat. Even though I got it new in the box, the little wind up thing that makes it walk does not work.
"Full Color Stadium" Figures
Bandai,
These are from a series of figures that were made for most, if not all of the original 151 figures doing action poses. They come with little bases that you can snap together. The sitting one is my favorite!
20th Anniversary Champion Red Nendoroid Venusaur Peice
Good Smile Company, 2016
This is a figure from a set with Trainer Red, Charizard, and Blastoise that was released for Pokemon's 20th anniversary in limited numbers. I organized my first group buy so I could get this guy and so glad I did. It is an absolutely amazing figure! Quite large at around 4"x4" and comes with translucent "frenzy plant" attack pieces. his head can tilt from side to side and his front legs move. I love the expression on his face. It's a wonderful characterization of Venusaur.

Ionix-Evolution Figure Set
Ionix, 2014
This figure is made from parts similar to lego. It came in a boxed set with bulbasaur, and also pieces you can use to turn it into mega Venusaur. I like to keep it as regular Venusaur because I think it looks better and is not as fragile. It's a pretty large figure too, one of the largest Venusaur figures.
Soap Bottle Figure
Cosrich Group,1999
I'm not 100% sure but I believe this figure originally came from a company called Cosrich Group. It was a little topper for a soap bottle. It's very unique looking compared to most Venusaur figures. Looks more toad-like with a style much different than your standard pokemon toy.
Battle Colosseum Tomy, 2004 I appreciate what they were going for in this figure: Venusaur on a grassy chunk of land shooting a lazer from his mouth is pretty cool, but I think the Venusaur itself looks really strange. He looks all squat and squished and his flower is tiny. I still like it overall though. |
Battle Museum Figure
Bandai, 2001
Battle musuem figures were a set of figures that featured a pokemon using a move on a little pedestal with their names on it. I believe Venusaur is using Razor Leaf here. A very adorable depiction of venusaur and I love the clear wind coming from his leaves.

Dome Figure
Banpresto, 1998
A little figure of Venusaur using vine whip. Unlike most of similar figures in cases, this one is quite large, around 2" tall. Another neat figure of Venusaur using an attack!
Hasbro Combat Figure Hasbro, 2000 This is my second largest Venusaur figure. The main feature of this toy is one of his leaves can be pulled, and when the top of the flower is pressed it retracts. I don't know why but I really like this figure, despite the fact that his eyes are facing seperate directions. It's so colorful and stylized in a way. It was also one of my first items! |
Footprint Figure (Chocoball Figure)
Tomy, Presumably 2004-2005
This figure is tiny! It comes with a little base that he can hide in. I'm not sure if that's actually the way he is supposed to go, but it looks cuter, One of the smallest figures in my collection and one of my favorites for the unique base. I love figures that have pieces of little environments,

"Metal Collection" Figures
Kyodo, 1997 Metal figures like this came in gachapon machines way back when. Metal figures for 151 were made, but for all of the generations after that they are scarce. Still even, Venusaur metal figures seem pretty hard to come by. They are really neat though, I love metal merchandise, and metal figures are at the top of the list. The sculpt for Venusaur here is also pretty unique, he looks almost cat like. The colors pictured, are gunmetal, and gold. |
Suction Cup Figure
Banpresto, 2005
I'm so glad this exists. The sculpt is nice, he's got big teeth! This was also a gachapon prize released during Ruby and Sapphire era games. It sticks well to computer screens.
Pencil Topper
Bandai 2005
This is a little figure you can put on the end of your pencil. I believe it came in gachapon machines. He's firing a solar beam, which is removable. It's a neat little figure.
Pracoro Dice
Bandai, 1998
These are two pieces from a pokemon themed dice game that featured a multitude of pokemon. The large dice are called "Characoro" and the small dice are "Chibicoro". I really love the style of all the Pracoro dice pokemon, and Venusaur is no exception. The large dice come in different poses, however I only have one (the standard pose). They were also meant to be painted.
The small red one is the smallest Venusaur item in my collection.

DX Kid Figure
Bandai, 2006
This is similar to the kid figures above, only it is larger, does not have a hole on the bottom, and his front legs are movable. Only a handful of pokemon recieved DX kid figures so Venusaur is lucky. It's very cute too!

Movie Gachapon Figure
Bandai, 1998
This figure features a swiveling flower and rotating+removable back legs. It was a gachapon machine prize. The color scheme on this one is very 90s looking! (Dark blue body, neon green leaves, and red flower) Very interesting little figure.

Mega Block
Mega Blocks,
It's a cube-shaped Venusaur. All of the sides show the different sides of his body, which I think is pretty neat.
Minicot
Banpresto, 2004
Minicots are little chibi pokemon on green bases, there are some for gen 1, 2, and 3. Venusaur doesn't look too chibi, but is still pretty adorable. It's a very small figure, probably smaller than a quarter in diameter.

Petit Chara or Gameboy Advance Clip
Rana, 2004
This figure is extremely tiny, and can be removed from the blue base. It is meant to be clipped onto a slot that was on gameboy advances. There's also a clear blue version of this one. If I had one of these as a kid I would have definitely used it!

Tomy Pose Figure
Tomy 2004
This figure is the most accurate in my opinion. As you have seen by now, all of these figures are different in coloration and proportions. This figure is very posable, the legs can move and the flower can twist. I love this figure. The shiny one on the right was repainted by me!

Mega Zukan
Takara Tomy, 2014
Mega Venusaur's zukan figure. It is actually 1/50th scale unlike the usual 1/40th scale because otherwise he would have been too big to fit in the gachapon capsule. This figure features the typical Mega Venusaur pose: standing there doing absolutely nothing. It's a good quality figure, though unfortunately is near identical to the Mega Venusaur Tomy figure.

Large Mini Model
Bandai, ?
This figure is a "large" minimodel. Mini models are figures that came in a rainbow of colors for most of the original 151. With this figure you can remove his leaves and flower, making it look like a little cat thing.

France Exclusive Mcdonald's Happy Meal Toy
Mcdonald's, 2013
This was a very difficult figure to track down, because it was only released in France during a Pokemon Happy Meal promotion. It was worth it though, this is a great little toy. The design of Venusaur is very interesting to me, he looks like no other figure. He's got a very pointy noise and chunky leaves. The quality for this is pretty good for a fast food toy, better than the burger king Venusaur.
It has wheels on the bottom, you pull it back and it's legs move like it's running. Pretty sweet!

Diorama Set Tomy, 2005 A very small diorama (about 3" /8cm long) of Venusaur and Mew. I think it's interesting that mew is with Venusaur, that's a combination I have never seen before. Sweet! This figure seems to be extremely difficult to find with all the pieces all together. I feel very lucky to have it in my collection! |
151 Figure and Fuzzy Figure
Banpresto, 1999-?
These figures are quite small, and every one of the original 151 received this type of figure. They look pretty derpy. and for some reason they made a fuzzy variant. I can say that the fuzzy figure is my strangest item. Why is it fuzzy!?

Soft Key Holder
Banpresto, 1997
A hollow keychain with an interesting color palette. Venusaur is dark blue, his leaves are olive green, and his flower is pastel pink. It's strange that these colors were chosen, but I think it makes this keychain all the more unique.

A swing keychain that came in a capsule. Features Venusaur and bulbasaur together. I like Venusaur's steeping forward pose here.

3D Bouncy Ball
I am not sure of the origins of this bouncy ball but I must say it is pretty cool. There used to be bouncy balls sold in the states in the 90s like this one. There was charizard, and blastoise but no Venusaur. This bouncy ball seems to be from japan. It's a little figure suspended in the ball. Looks much better in person!

This keychain features a chibi venusaur on a pokeball. The pokeball is a little bell. There are a few different pokeballs for this keychain, and a bunch of other pokemon as well. Pretty cute!

Pokemon Legendary Guide Strap

This little strap has one of my favorite sculpts. He is so round and cute and his ears are big. I have one on my bag that I take everywhere.

Pokemon AG Fighting Keychain-2
Banpresto, 2004-2005
This keychain is awesome. The only venusaur figure where he is actually performing an attack (vine whip doesn't count). The razor leaf whirlwind is what brings this figure to life, and his pose and sculpt is nice too. He's got a cocky grin on his face.
This is yet another of my favorite items.

Pokemon Time Strap
Pokemon Center/ Play Set Products, 2012 Pokemon time is a promotion by Play Set Products, a company with a unique style that created the look for this promotion. This is one of the phone straps released in the 2014 promo. It's adorable in every way, especially the eyes. Fun Fact: This is the only Venusaur I have that has eyes that are open all the way. |
Miscellaneous
Marbles
Toy Biz, 2000?
Most people seem to have these as kids, little marbles with Pokemon on them. There are a lot of different colors, but for Venusaur I only have green and yellow.

Metal Key Ring
Fab Starpoint, 2015
This keychain is very large, thick and heavy, about the size of a Venusaur bandai kid figure. It was made by an American company "Fab Starpoint" and sold at stores like F.Y.E. They made a bunch of keychains of Gen 1 pokemon using slightly updated stock artwork.
I was surprised to see that they actually made one of Venusaur. It's a pretty cool keychain!

These are cute little buttons that are to be sewn on to things. They are very tiny, but detailed! Really like these.

Pokedoll Charm
Pokemon Center, 2014
Pokemon Center often releases metal charms of select pokedolls every year. When the Venusaur Pokedoll plush was released, a charm was soon after. It came in a set with charizard, blastoise, and mewtwo. I love the pokedoll artwork, and I love metal merchandise. So this guy is pretty much perfect.

3rd Anniversary Memorial Pin
Pokemon Center, 1998 This pin was from a set of 4 (charizard, blastoise, Pikachu, Venusaur) released for the third anniversary of Pokemon. 4,000 sets were made and they are quite difficult to come by. I was super lucky to find Venusaur by itself, and he even came with the special plate showing the number. The pin says 10,000,000 on it to commemorate the number of games sold. This pin was one of my most sought-after items for a long time. It features gorgeous artwork of Venusaur, and is a special item in my collection. |
"Pokemon Meets Japanese Design" Pin
Pokemon Center, 2014
The Pokemon Meets Japanese Design was a promotion to make Pokemon themed objects targeted towards the adult fanbase. Venusaur was one of the designs used. I think this pin is pretty awesome, it is not noticeable that it is a Venusaur right away, but then you see that it is a down view with his flower on top.

Iron-On Applique Set
Unlike most iron-on patches, these are not pure embroidery. His body is made of soft blue fabric, with the rest being embroidered. They are pretty large too, about 1.5 x 1.5 inches. I am tempted to use them, but I won't ;)

Green Version Millenium Badge
Pokemon Center, 2000
This pin was a limited edition in a set similar to the one above, but not nearly as rare. It is a commemorative pin for Green Version. It came in a set with Blastoise, Charizard, Pikachu, Ho-Oh, and Lugia. All the lines on this pine are grooves, which gives it an interesting dimension.
Pracoro Dice Game Peice
XY Medal Collection 2-Mega Venusaur
Pokemon Center, 2014
The recent medal collections have been featuring a few metal figures alongside coins, with 3D close ups of certain pokemon. Mega Venusaur was released alongside Mega Charizard and Mega Blastoise as coins, or medals.
The sculpting is excellent, these coins are a good addition to mega venusaur's merch. All the colors are here: silver, gold, bronze, and copper.

Venusaur EX Power Trio Tin
The Pokemon Company, 2014
I always thought the TCG tins were cool, and wished they would make one of Venusaur. In fall 2014 they released this tin alongside Charizard and Blastoise. It came with an special Venusaur card exclusive to this tin. The card and the tin are both awesome.

Warner bros (?), 1999
These are film strips from the movie "Mewtwo Strikes back" featuring Venusaur and clone Venusaur. I love these! They have to be lit up to be seen, but when they are they look like tiny little TV screens. My favorite strip is the one in the middle.
